Atebubu is a town which you can locate it in Bono East region of our homeland Ghana between Ejura to Yeji road. Atebubu is one of the oldest town in Ghana and it is known by large supply of yam across Ghana.

Atebubu celebrate yam festival because it's land is good for yam farming and large production of yam across Ghana. This festival is called "Foyawo". It is celebrate every year and it celebrate because is the day which the god's in Atebubu bless the land and also the day which the King and his sub chief will eat the new yam of the season.

Why Atebubu Is Best Town To Start Trading Yam ?

Atebubu is central market of yam, the reason is that many town and villages bring their yams to Atebubu and sell them. Some towns like; Kwame Danso, Galadima, Bantama, Bye bye, Sawaba, Parambo No.1, Nyomose, Prag,Konkorompe, Sabidi, Adom, Dua Bone, etc, all this towns and villages bring their yams to Atebubu and sell.

Yams in Atebubu are cheap than everywhere in Ghana, so make business men and women from Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi etc come and buy yams and sell it urban areas and make more money through yam business.

There two yam market in Atebubu one is called Asante yam market and the other one is Konkomba yam market. However the Asante yam market was the first yam market of Atebubu and later Konkomba yam market was also create near "Ahonto"

The Konkomba yam market yams are quite less than the Asante yam market. All this yam market are active.

Price Of Yam In Atebubu 

The yam doesn't have a stable price always the farmers follow the market. I mean when there more buyers or demand the farmers increase the price and when the buyers there the price decrease.

Many farmers didn't get more yams this year because of rainfall the this the they didn't get the rain well so many farmers didn't get more yams. They due to this the price of the yam will rise than ever.

Last week Monday 1,000 of yam was GH¢4,500 that was 11/11/2024.

Which is cheaper across the whole Ghana Atebubu yam marketing day is market on only Monday's.
